The College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences offers students a traditional liberal education to meet the needs of the 21st century, allowing them to compete for a variety of careers in an increasingly complex and evolving world.

The communication laboratories complement the classroom study of journalism, broadcasting, and public relations by giving you experience and equipment similar to that which you will encounter during your careers. Round out your resume by combining classroom training with other experiences available to AUM communication students in our campus television studio, or by writing or editing the student print publication, AUMnibus.

Our communication studio lab offers new media tools and software and thanks to Raycom Media, we have recently renovated. Broadcast control rooms and studios allow you to gain skills for a career in broadcasting, public relations and journalism. You can use the print media studio to sharpen your skills in writing, print design and layout. The computer laboratory is equipped with computer technology to aid in teaching: Desktop Publishing, Journalism, Publication Design and Layout and Internet Web Page Design.
